Potassium diformate ≥95% — the EU-authorized non-antibiotic performance acidifier (2001) and newly approved for broilers in China (2026), for drinking-water and feed acidification programs.
FURE 95 is potassium diformate (HCOOH·HCOOK), a white crystalline feed acidifier. In the gut it splits into formic acid and potassium formate: formic acid lowers gastric pH and exerts a bactericidal effect against Gram-negative pathogens such as E. coli and Salmonella, while the potassium ion supplements dietary K⁺. It was the first non-antibiotic growth promoter approved in the EU as an antibiotic-growth-promoter replacer.
Potassium diformate also acts as a feed preservative with anti-mold performance superior to sodium diacetate, helping keep complete feed fresh during storage and transport. A coated grade (potassium diformate with fatty-acid monoglyceride) is available for targeted intestinal release.
Heritage note: potassium diformate entered China’s Feed Additive Catalogue in March 2005 under New Feed Additive Certificate No. (2005) 03, granted to Beijing Challenge Group — SKF Bio’s parent group — for the product developed with BASF cooperation (brand FUER).
